Don't Be Cheap When Buying An Electric Guitar

Should I get an acoustic electric or acoustic guitar?

A few months ago, I borrowed my friends acoustic guitar and taught me some songs, but I had to give back. I want my own guitar now, but I'm not sure what I go for. I do not think I want an electric guitar, because I like to sing when I play the guitar (hahaha). So I was wondering if I should get an acoustic-electric or just a regular acoustic guitar? Are electric acoustic thinner? You can play with or without an amp, right? When it without the amp, not to sound like a regular acoustic? "An acoustic-electric come in more handy? Also, what guitar should I start with? (I want a steel guitar by Sting) I do not want a cheap guitar that sounds really good shit, I need a guitar that sounds good and has a decent price, because I think I will be buying another in a long time. Any shops to be sure to check out (I live in South Cali)? Any other suggestions / advice would be greatly appreciated too:) Thanks a lot: D

Well, I used to have a semi acoustic but a semi acoustic has to be amplified ... An acoustic-electric can be played without amplification, you're right. Steel string guitars are a bit more difficult to learn that the nylon. It will take a longer time for the fingers to be strong enough and a little more tired in your hands. As for advice on what guitar get, have an assistant play some of that in a music store and decide what you like the sound of the majority. I have an electric-acoustic, so I can be of more help, sorry. ☺
