What are the effects of skylights, as well as enabling direct sunlight. Why solar homes in all bedrooms and bathrooms?
For light. If they let the light, reducing the need to run electricity. I know that you said what else, but that's their main function. I think what they do is reduce electricity consumption.

Put some in my non solar rooms. Thank goodness 3 were in one room because they rotted out in less than 10 years. Top of the line Velux too! Had to pull them out and re-roof also. Wouln’t recommend a skylight ever. Thinking more about a windmill lately.
