To build a custom PC would be a side air duct or fan better be out?
Right at the top of the CPU, it would side air duct work better, or just love without a maintenance through the refrigerator case? If you mount the fan with the duct, the duct amplify and fan noise becomes unbearable, so I can go with one or the other.
It really depends on the case, CPU cooler and design flow air of the box. Let's say you chose one of the high-end HSF, like the Ultra 120, with a tower of the draft should be like a river, fresh air comes in the front of the box through the HSF and exhausting hot air out the back of the computer. In this example, a side-mounted fan-stop flow of air reducing cooling. Many people use the bottom of the GPU with a fan grill as air is pulled into the GPU and exhausted through the back of the box. Like My Points Deng a fan can force the hot air to flow through the CPU chipset. I guess to sum up just use a side fan if it improves the overall air flow system. If you have HSF one exhausting air away from the motherboard then the canal is a best fit to the air flow requirements.
