But, I will say that 9:00 am is half way between 6:00 am and 12 noon.  So, it is 45 degrees.
This part of your equations seems to simply be changing the time into degrees.  The degrees are not based on a circle drawn on the Earth&#039;s surface at your location.  Because the Sun doesn&#039;t stay at the horizon.
I&#039;m guessing this is just the first of many equations.  :)
There is a free program that will help you picture the motion of the Sun in your mind so you can figure out which angles are being discussed at any given time.</description>
